The five (read four) Ws
In episode two of Tell Me About… The Podcast we discuss who, what, when and why starting a business should be something that you should be doing or considering. Here’s a very condensed round up of these points…
Who – Stoics – you can’t control what happens only your reaction and those that can utilise negative visualisation to plan for all outcomes. Those that are willing to keep learning and developing but also know when to stop. People that can recognise they’re on the right path and see the positives. People with strong communication skills to get ideas across clearly and concisely.
What – You see a gap in the market, some niche that you can fill or do better.
When – People who have the ambition and people who need to do something your own way.
This applies to people in all stages and walks of life… people who have just been made redundant, want more time with the kids, going into early retirement, or just simply done with the rat race and want to be self employed. People who want to shape their own work life balance. This is not for everyone though. As soon as you’ve got that idea – developed that business plan (listen to the next episode) and are ready to take that leap.
Why – Satisfaction, Responsibility and freedom. To tick that box, itch that scratch and listen to what the heart desires.
Why not… You can control the time you spend working in your business but you will not be able to switch off working on.
