Something that we’ve touched on on a number of occasions in some of the other episodes.
In this episode we talk about the time management pressures the first time entrepreneur maybe under and give some information on how to deal with this.
‘Where’s the time gone to?’ These feelings come from people who are running at 100 miles per hour and don’t have any time to stop regather, reset and give appreciation to what can be done next. Good time management means we achieve much, and feel positive about it and then the cycle will repeat. It needs become a strong habit.
There is always lot to do and you can’t do it all at once so make use of the time – get things done in the right order, budget and approach – all to do with the management of the project.
The first time entrepreneur whilst working on bringing the start up to life they likely wont be restricted by deadlines from others. So they have freedom at this point but it builds up quickly. The to do list develops more so than you can ever think would be the case.
No.1 enemy of time management = procrastination.
We have to plan things, fix our plans and get them done.
Start by visualising the end and avoid shuffling things around all the time.
You’ll know when you’ve got the time management sweet spot and you wont be atimidated by your to do list.
Time blocking – base the blocks upon your responsibilities not your tasks. Put a block of time in your diary and then when you come to that block of time decide work out what you’re going to work on in that moment. You could think of this as roles as well as responsibilities. Make sure that you integrate in working on time too.
